Winter Solstice Mindfulness Hike

Let us celebrate the return of the Sun with a hike through the open mountain tops of the East Bay Hills. This hike will include a yoga practice (no mat needed), a meditation, periods of silent hiking, and intention setting for the new year.

Date: Saturday, December 21st

Time: 11am-2pm

Location: Sibley Volcanic Preserve (Oakland Hills)

Cost: $20 per person

Details:

Length: 3.9 miles

Difficulty: Easy-Moderate

Flow:

  • Meet at the trailhead at 11am​

  • Start with some simple, intuitive stretching

  • Leave the trailhead at 11:15am (please text me if you're running behind)

  • Hike along cliff tops, through fields, along streams. Visiting Labyrinths, practicing sun salutations, and meditation.

  • Complete hike

Additional Details:

  • Parking is somewhat limited, please plan accordingly​

  • There's a bathroom about 2 miles into the hike.

  • Bring at least 1 liter of water for each person (and your pup!) and any snacks you may need

  • This hike is mostly open-air, so plan accordingly for the sun

  • Some points have a fairly steep incline/decline

  • We'll wait for the entire group at each intersection

  • Dogs are allowed on this hike (some leashed, some unleashed areas)

  • In the event of poor weather, this hike will be postponed and rescheduled. An email will be sent the morning of to those who have RSVP'd if we cancel.
